This policy explains how MortgageMetrics ("we", "us") handles personal data under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Using our calculators
Calculators run entirely in your web browser. The figures you enter are not sent to us or stored on our servers. They may appear in the page address (URL) so you can bookmark or share a result. Avoid sharing links that contain figures you consider private.
Information we collect
- Server logs: our hosting keeps standard logs, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time. We use these to keep the service secure and working, under our legitimate interests. Logs are kept for a limited period.
- Analytics (only with consent): if you accept optional cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to collect usage statistics (such as pages visited, device type and approximate location) to improve the site. This is based on your consent, and Google acts as our processor. Calculator inputs are not sent. You can change your choice at any time using "Cookie settings" in the footer.
- Contacting us: if you email us, we use your email address and message to reply. We do this under our legitimate interests or to take steps at your request.
Sharing your information
We don't sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site (for example, hosting) under contracts that protect your data, or where the law requires it.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. To use these rights, email hello@mortgagemetrics.net. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) atico.org.uk.
Changes
We'll update this page if our practices change. If we introduce lead-capture forms in future, we'll update this policy before they go live.
